Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Works to own initiative and required to supervise engineers & designers.
- Supervision of discipline personnel and allocation of work.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant Codes, Standards and Procedures.
- Checking and approval of design/engineering documentation.
- Deputise for Lead Engineer as required.
- Undertake engineering investigations, surveys and studies necessary to develop area of work assigned.
- Produce accurate and technically correct engineering design deliverables to meet the project scope of work and design requirements
- Provide input to cost estimates and execution plans.
- Ensure all interfaces to other disciplines are clearly defined and correctly engineered.
- Liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel, vendors, clients, etc
- Calculation and selection of field instrumentation (such as control valves, relief valves and flow devices)
- Develop and maintain instrumentation progress, schedule, staffing planning, and coordination with project management including regular reporting
- P&ID representation : can recognize/report problems associated with field instrumentation on P&ID's
- Recognize and safe guard interfaces with Process, Electrical, Piping, Structural, Mechanical, HSE and Control Systems.
- Practical experience in:
- Creating instrument index and datasheets, generate reports and monitor wiring design and loop developments in Intergraph Smart Plant Instrumentation database.
- Layer of protection analysis (LOPA) and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews and Safety Integrity Level Assignments
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BSc Chemical, BS Electrical Engineering.
- Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes and standards procedures and specifications.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards applicable to Oil and Gas and Refining Industries (API, ISA, NEC / IEC, NFPA, ASME, etc.)
